If you didn’t know what it was, you might think a “beast blender” is a huge and bulky blender, but it’s actually a trendy, sleek, and stylish compact blender that probably popped up on your Instagram feed.
I hadn’t actually seen the Beast Mixer before, but when my husband surprised me with one over Christmas, I have to say I was really excited to try it.
The price made it a bit more expensive than other new mixers I was considering, so I really wanted to find out if the Beast was worth keeping based on the performance and other qualities I was looking for. Did I keep mine in the end?
Here’s how I would review the Beast mixer and rate it on looks, size, performance, and optional accessories...
Looks: As for the visuals on this system, I would give the Beast Mixer a 10 out of 10. It’s available in three colors (Carbon Black, Pebble Gray, and Cloud White), and the sleek, upturned body is complemented by the fluted design of the vessels to create a countertop device you won’t want to keep in a closet.
In fact, they designed it to look good enough to stay out on the counter all the time, which I can’t say wanted to do with my previous blender.
Size: At under 5 inches wide and under 16 inches tall (with the 1000ml blender jar attached), this blender not only looks good enough to stay on your counter, it’s slim enough to just keep there taking up very little space.
Aside from looks, saving space on my countertop was a major reason I kept my previous blender in a cabinet when not in use. But the footprint on the beast is so small that I’ve consistently left it off for the past few months and it hasn’t gotten in the way at all. The only downside to the size is if you want to blend extra large batches at once.
The largest jar size is 1000ml (about 4.25 cups), so it’s perfect for smoothies, drinks and sauces/dips, but it won’t be big enough if you’re trying to mix up entire batches of family-sized soups (which honestly, an immersion blender is really what you want in this situation, rather than a regular blender).
Since I mainly wanted it for smoothies, drinks, sauces and dips, the size of the beast is great and I would rate the size 10 out of 10.
The Beast has three different sized jars for blending: a 1000ml, 800ml and 500ml jar so you can prepare single or larger batches (the 500ml jar is perfect for a morning smoothie bowl, etc.).
Performance: The Beast’s 1000W motor is powerful enough to blend the smoothest smoothie, but also features a pulse mode to easily chop up dips or other concoctions that just need a quick blending action.
To pulse the blender, simply press the main button in short bursts and hold for more than a second to blend to start a one-minute timed blend cycle (although you can pause briefly if needed).
The blender jar should contain at least 25% liquid for best blending results and it is recommended to add the ingredients in the following order: liquids, ice, produce, leafy greens, powder, seeds, nuts, nut butters and then honey. I would rate the performance 9 out of 10 as the blender works great as long as you have enough liquid in it (otherwise it will struggle like most blenders) and the pulse mode is great for making things like quick salsas but you need to be quick with the button presses or it will spin in salsa soup.
Optional accessories: For your blender and jars there are various accessories you can get to enhance the experience such as a specially shaped brush to clean your jars (with a cool mini brush in the handle for small spaces), an 800ml jar for one between size options and a grooved spatula so you can get everything out of your blender before washing.
I didn’t get any of the accessories for mine and you can do without them, but I might get the spatula as you can’t scrape it clean with a regular spatula due to the jars unique grooved walls. I would rate the accessory options a 9 out of 10 as having different sized vessels and specially shaped tools for cleaning the system is a plus, but I wish they had a travel lid with a straw for the water and a travel sized vessel for an on-the-go smoothie that would fit in a cup holder, without having to transfer it.
Q: What is the optional hydration system that can accompany the Beast mixer? The hydration system is a 750ml glass jar shaped more like a water bottle, with a stainless steel infusion chamber that you can add fresh fruit like strawberries, veggies like cucumber, or herbs like mint to infuse your water with natural goodness .
Q: What comes with the Beast Mixer? The standard package comes with a base, blade unit, 1000ml container, storage lid, drinking lid and carrying cap.
You can get all of that with the hydration version as well, but you’ll be adding a 500ml jar, another storage cap, a 750ml hydration jar, a hydration cap, and an infusion chamber and holder for the hydration system.
You can also buy the hydration system without the blender if that is your main need.
Q: Does The Beast only make smoothies or smoothie bowls? No! You may have mostly seen nice smoothies or smoothie bowls in ads or on someone’s feed, but the beast is also perfect for other things like drinks, sauces or dips! I used it to make a bullet coffee drink in the morning and it gave me whipped, frothy coffee goodness in no time.
You can also use it to grind grains like rice, wheat or corn, or even coffee!
Q: Do you have any complaints about the beast? My only complaint so far is that I wish they had a drinking lid that only had a small opening for a straw. I would always prefer to use a metal straw with my water bottles and you either have to drink from the open lid with the drinking chamber inside the water bottle.
If you take it out after the water has been poured in, you still have a large opening for the straw to rattle around and it doesn’t feel as leakproof if it falls over.
So did you keep your blender?
After all my testing, did I keep my blender? Yes, I have! So far it has been totally worth the price and it has gotten me back into making smoothies and smoothie bowls which I love. I hope this helps you decide if you’re undecided or haven’t heard of it! xo. laura

Although it makes noise when blending, I wouldn’t say it’s a “loud” blender. My coffee grinder makes more noise than blend mode so I consider it an average amount of noise.
Yes! The Beast is made to handle ice and they actually recommend that you mix it with ice or frozen fruit/veg for the best texture.
The mixing vessels are made of Tritan™ plastic and the drinking vessel is made of glass.
