Known for his contributions to top-shelf pop-punk (Late Nite Laundry), vintage soul (The Devonns), Latin R&B (Lester Rey), chameleonesque artist Ari Lindo is breaking out on his own with the vibey indie folk of ‘Sheepskin Lady’. The tune rides with methodical guitar tones and a filtered vocal production reminiscent of folk-rock savants Andy Shauf or Theo Katzman, whereas Lindo’s haunting vocal delivery is the evocative seal that binds this new sound together. It’s a dreamy summer folk tune that draws its inspiration from the blossoming of a new romance.
Lindo tells For Folk’s Sake, “I wrote ‘Sheepskin Lady’ about an important relationship that had ended right before the start of the pandemic and how we fell back into old patterns before they finally moved away. It’s about giving in to the blind faith and excitement of a complicated love. How easy it is to return to that feeling and situation without being ready for what may come next.”
