Acclaimed luthier Linda Manzer joins us this week to talk about her latest creation, Sunflower Guitar for Ukraine.
Featuring a beautiful sunflower inlaid headstock and a Hoffee Ukraine flag case, this instrument will be on tour for several months raising awareness of the war aid efforts in Ukraine and the $1,000 Ukraine project. Eventually it will find its way to Ukraine for guitarists in the country to record with.
During our conversation, Linda shares her inspiration for the guitar and how it was built. We also hear from Stephen Bennett, one of the instrument’s caretakers, about his time with the guitar and some of the many musicians who have played it (like Bill Frisell, below).
