The Fretboard Journal is proud to present the latest video from Mighty Poplar, the new bluegrass supergroup Andrew Marlin from guardhouse, Noam Pikelny and Chris Eldridge from Punch brothersbassist Gregory Garrison (Salmon leftovers) and Geiger Alex Hargreaves (Billy strings).
Mighty Poplar’s ten-track debut is out March 31, 2023 on Free Dirt Records and features bluegrass and bluegrass-inspired tunes from a variety of artists including John Hartford, Bob Dylan, Norman Blake and Leonard Cohen. Marlin taught himself “A Distant Land to Roam” after hearing it Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerards won’t you come and sing for me
