Easter is not only the perfect opportunity to get loved ones around the table for a celebratory feast, it’s a great excuse to enjoy some of the season’s delicious produce.

Embrace lovely spring flavours with our cracking Easter recipes. Whether you’re looking for impressive show-stoppers or easy no-fuss mains, we’ve got all the ideas. Simply serve with seasonal veggies for an extra-special meal. And to finish things off, Easter weekend wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat — you’ll love our Easter bakes, from a traditional simnel cake to gorgeous sticky hot-cross buns.

It’s essential to have a good egg salad recipe up your sleeve, and properly done old-school ones like this are out of this world. It’s a punchy combo of anchovy, chicory and homemade salad cream – delicious!

Salmon with rhubarb sauce

This simple, delicate poached salmon is served with some beautifully bold flavour bombs, from a tangy rhubarb sauce to a zingy tarragon mayonnaise. Serve it whole in the middle of the table for maximum impact.

Leg of lamb with amazing gravy

The traditional Easter centrepiece, a leg of lamb is a real showstopper. Incredibly easy, it’s all about the mint sauce and herby gravy. Consider using hogget instead of spring lamb, as the meat will have aged naturally outdoors and has beautiful deep flavour.

Stuffed leg of lamb with rosemary and pine nuts

Traditional Easter fare, a regular cut of lamb is transformed into something a little bit special for Easter with a stuffing with herbs and nuts. This juicy lamb bursting with flavour and served with homemade gravy is so good.

Celeriac gratin

Looking for a different side dish to serve this Easter? Try this indulgent veggie number. It’s a wonderful combination of humble spuds, celeriac and melty cheese, and is lovely served with roast meat, or white fish like cod or haddock. Plus, it’s super quick to prepare the dish and get it baking — let your oven do the work for you.

My perfect roast chicken

Jamie’s roast chicken recipe from The Naked Chef guarantees crispy skin and juicy meat every time. He carefully parts the skin from the meat on the top of the chicken breast to stuff the gap with fresh, delicate herbs such as parsley, basil and marjoram.

Hot cross buns

An Easter classic, you’re going to love these sticky hot cross buns dotted with juicy cranberries and raisins, with a gorgeous honey glaze. They taste heavenly served warm from the oven with a little butter and a cuppa — there’s no better way to treat yourself at Easter. They’re great fun to make with kids, or get creative in the kitchen with our guide on how to make a chocolate Easter egg.

Chocolate hot cross buns

Take your hot cross buns to a whole new level with this twist on the classic Easter treat. With a chocolate dough and a secret melting middle, they are utterly delicious. Best served warm from the oven.

Neapolitan Easter tart

Cooked wheat, also called wheat berries or grains, comes in a jar or can and is available from delicatessens. The mixed peel, orange blossom water and creamy ricotta makes it a lovely fragrant treat to finish your feast.

Simnel cake

A classic Easter treat, the combo of fruit and sweet marzipan is always a joy. A Simnel cake is traditionally topped with 11 marzipan balls, representing the 12 apostles (minus Judas), which is a perfect job to get the kids involved in. It’s sure to go down a storm with friends and family, and makes a great seasonal bake.
