For five decades, Lansing, Michigan’s Elderly Instruments has been an institution for lovers of vintage guitars, banjos and mandolins. Founded in 1972 by Stan Werben, the shop has made instruments old and new available to countless musicians around the world through its storefront, iconic catalogs and now its website.
In this week’s podcast, we talk to Lillian Werbin, the new president of Elderly, about this famous store. She gives us a brief history, explains why she decided to work in the family business and describes her hopes for the future of the store and the collectors market in general.
