Hello everybody! It’s been about three weeks since we moved and I thought I’d share some updates from my life with you.
I plan to share room tours and home projects as usual, but for now we’re still unpacking boxes and moving furniture about four times a day. We’re in this in-between phase, which I’m really enjoying.
I am constantly walking around the house with wallpaper samples and color swatches, trying to envision future projects. Even if we haven’t settled in yet, we already feel at home here.
The first thing we did (after getting the basics done) was to start building our porch. So far it’s our favorite spot in the whole house.
Every morning we start the day together with a coffee on the porch before the kids wake up. It feels magical! (Here is a link to the hanging artificial flowers).
The family walks in our new neighborhood are incredible. We love living in a walkable area with cute little restaurants and cafes.
The reason we returned to our hometown was to spend more time with family and it’s shocking how much time we’ve spent with family in just three weeks.
It’s probably equivalent to what we would normally have in six months. For this reason alone we are so grateful to be here. It’s such a gift to be able to spend time with family almost every day. Our children are in heaven. (Here is a link to Marigold’s sundress).
We had a stair runner installed last week and WOW it has made a world of difference, both in terms of the squeaking of our old steps and the overall feeling of *home*.
I’m currently in 10+ Projects mode. These are some chairs I painted last week. As soon as I finish one thing, I start at least three more.
I really enjoy furnishing our home with 50% antique and vintage finds. It always feels more personal.
Here are 10 things I’m loving right now!
1. We’ve been creating a fairy garden for the past few weeks and I’ve found the cutest solar powered houses on Amazon. I love this and this one too.
2. Madewell is hosting an insider sale: Spend $100 and get $25 off (you just need to create an account to become an Insider). I had these ballet flats in my shopping cart waiting for a sale.
3. I just finished this book after Emma’s great reviews and absolutely loved it. It was beautiful and very unique!
4. I love finding unique artwork for my frame TV. Here’s my pick of frame TV art for the summer.
5. I am currently working on this puzzle.
6. One of my favorite things to look for on Etsy is affordable original paintings. i love this one
7. If you are looking for a cute summer craft for your kids, download our butterfly template.
8. Abercrombie is having a 20% discount this weekend. I really like her clothes.
9. I’ve looked everywhere for comfortable chairs for our kitchen. I know it’s different, but our kitchen has a fireplace with a TV and enough space for two chairs or a small loveseat.
We ended up ordering these affordable chairs from Justina’s Opalhouse collection and I love them!
10. Does anyone have any fun TV or movie recommendations for this summer? I need something to watch other than watch again i think you should go (so good!! I was literally on the floor laughing at one point).
