Ingredients
- asparagus
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- Lemon – optional, for serving
directions
Preparation of asparagus:
First wash the asparagus under cold water to remove any dirt. Cut off the hard, woody ends by gently snapping them off or using a knife. The asparagus should snap on its own where the tender part begins.
After cutting, pat the asparagus dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Dry asparagus provides better crispiness.
Place the cleaned and dried asparagus spears in a bowl. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil, making sure it’s evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper.
Air frying the asparagus:
Arrange the seasoned asparagus spears in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Be sure to leave some space between each spear to allow for good air circulation.
Cook the asparagus at 200°C (400°F) for about 7-8 minutes or until tender and crispy and lightly browned. Remember to shake the basket or turn the spears halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
Once done, transfer the air fried asparagus to a serving platter or individual plates. Drizzle the asparagus with fresh lemon juice and serve warm.
