There are some dishes that you guys just search for again and again – so we’re sharing here your top 23 recipes of 2023, all together in one handy place.

There’s a reason why these dishes are so popular – so many of them are proper principle recipes that can be taken in many different ways, the kind of classic recipes that become a firm fixture in your repertoire; as well as a few new favourites.

So, as the end of 2023 fast approaches, here’s a message from Jamie; “Happy new year guys! A huge thank you for cooking up some epic recipes with me this year. Wishing you all the best for 2024 and another year of joyful cooking!”

Light, fluffy and totally moreish, these Yorkshire puddings are guaranteed to make you smile. Just make sure your oil is really hot and your batter is light and smooth and you’ll be winning.

Pizza dough

A fantastic base recipe that has tons of potential. This pizza dough is dependable and laid back – make it ahead and keep it in the fridge until you get your mates round for a pizza party!

Family spaghetti Bolognese

Everyone needs a spaghetti Bolognese recipe up their sleeve, and this is one you’ll come to again and again. Batch up any extra portions and you’ll have easy future meals ready and waiting in the fridge or freezer.

Gennaro's classic spaghetti carbonara

Who better than the don, Gennaro Contaldo, to tell us how to cook up this iconic Italian classic? This spaghetti carbonara holds a special place in many hearts – give it a go!

Roast leg of lamb

Roast lamb is a fabulous choice for a roast dinner. Simply marinate the lamb in garlic, rosemary and lemon, roast the potatoes underneath (to catch the lovely juices) and serve with lovely seasonal veg for a winner dinner.

Basic recipe for fresh egg pasta dough

Making (and eating!) your own pasta is a total joy. Based on Jamie’s travels around Italy, this fresh egg pasta recipe can be scaled up or down to suit your needs using the ratio of 1 egg to 100g Tipo ‘00’ flour.

Easy flatbreads

Making flatbreads is really fun – which is why you guys keep searching for this one! Get your family and friends together and get kneading. You can’t beat homemade bread.

Classic ratatouille

A celebration of Mediterranean vegetables, this ratatouille recipe is great as a main with some crusty bread or rice; or as part of a wider spread. And any leftovers will serve you a treat, too.

Perfect roast beef

A reliable principle roast beef recipe that you can mix and match with lovely side dishes of your choice – it’s simple enough to pair with any of your favourite flavours. Sunday lunch, here we come!

Versatile veggie chilli

Sweet potatoes, peppers and tinned beans are the heroes in this veggie chilli recipe, but feel free to mix it up with whatever you’ve got in the veg drawer. Plus, it’s brilliant for batch cooking and great when frozen for future meals.

Classic apple crumble

Sometimes, the simplest things in life are the best (and the most delicious!), and this crumble is just that. Beautiful apples with a seriously good crumble top. Serve with custard, cream or ice cream. Heaven!

Fantastic fish pie

A delicious dish which never fails to be nostalgic. Creamy white sauce spiked with mustard, a mashed potato top, delicate fish… and an egg, if that’s your thing!

Banana bread

Make the most of overripe bananas in this ever-popular bake! A slice of warm banana bread is one of life’s simple pleasures, and even more so when you’ve baked it yourself.

Leek & potato soup

Leek and potato work so well together. Leave it chunky or blend until smooth and velvety; both are perfect expressions of this classic soup. Enjoy as it is, or add toppings of your choice.

Sweet potato & chickpea curry

More and more of us are making the most of our microwaves, and this veg-packed curry (which gives you five of your 5-a-day in one portion!) is the perfect example. For more inspo, see our Microwave recipes.

Best roast potatoes

Crispy, crunchy, fluffy spuds. These are simply the best roast potatoes. Need we say more?

A killer mac 'n' cheese

There are so many riffs on mac ‘n’ cheese, but you guys keep coming back to this one – and we can see why. It’s oozy, it’s gooey, it’s indulgent… have a go!

Sicilian spaghetti alla Norma

A moreish tomato sauce with soft aubergines, salty capers, pecorino cheese, oregano and basil; what a pleasure!

Bloomin' brilliant brownies

These brownies are off the chart – tempting, indulgent and great for sharing. Make them your own by swapping in your favourite nuts and dried fruit.

Chicken & mushroom puff pie

We absolutely love this bold reinvention of a chicken pie, made using only one cooking vessel. Simply bake a sheet of puff pastry, then remove the top to create a lid – genius. Click here for more One-pan recipes.

Proper chicken pie

And at the other end of the scale, this old-school chicken pie uses homemade buttery pastry, a rich gravy and hearty veggies, all served up with some sweetheart cabbage. Don’t forget the mash!

Lemony courgette linguine

A 5-ingredient favourite that delivers every time – you can have this fresh and zingy courgette pasta dish on the table in just 15 minutes flat.

Easy Eton mess

Try Jamie’s speedy version of an Eton Mess, using shop-bought meringues and a mix of cream and Greek-style yoghurt. It’s fast, it’s tasty, the perfect assembly pud.

Continue your foodie journey and explore our huge collection of fantastic recipes. Happy cooking!
