Mini Beer Shot – A Beautiful Mess

Mini Beer Shots look exactly like a mini glass of beer, but there’s a secret! When you take a sip you may be surprised to learn- it’s not beer and it tastes exactly the opposite of a glass of beer. Sweet vanilla liqueur topped with cream makes this magical little shot recipe. It’s sweet, smooth and creamy. With just two ingredients- you have to try this recipe for your next party!

More shot recipes: Green Tea Shot, Lemon Drop Shot, White Tea Shot, Mexican Candy Shot, Scooby Snack Shot.

Ingredients in a Mini Beer Shot

  • Licor 43 A Spanish vanilla liqueur.
  • Heavy Cream to top the shot off and make it look like a foaming beer. This ingredient also adds creaminess that makes this shot so enjoyable!

For the shot glasses I chose these mini beer shot glasses. Perfect for this recipe!

What is Lincor 43?

Licor 43 is a bright yellow Spanish liqueur made from 43 ingredients (clever right?). It is a smooth, vanilla-flavored liqueur. Licor 43 tastes like citrus, vanilla taste, with notes of spice. The 43 herbs and botanicals blend harmoniously. The flavor is sweet and pleasant.

To chill the Licor before using you can store it in the fridge or the freezer. If you choose the freezer, only leave it in for about two hours (it can fully freeze).

Instructions

This shot is so easy to make! Simply pour chilled Lincor 43 into your shot glass until it is 3/4 of the way full. Be sure to choose shot glasses that resemble a tiny beer mug if you have them.

Next, create a foam head by topping the shot with a thin layer of heavy cream.

I used my milk frother before adding the heavy cream to give it a little extra froth.

Pour the cream as slowly as you can. This gives the shot the appearance of a foamy top- just like a glass of beer. It also makes the shot taste super creamy and delicious.

Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Tips for Making

  • For any layered shot it’s best to pour slowly and use the back of a bar spoon to help keep a clean line.
  • Variations What to create a green beer shot? Swap Licor 43 for a green liqueur like green apple schnapps.
  • Substitutions If you need a substitution for the Licor 43, Galliano makes the bright yellow color as well- but it’s too strong for a shot so we recommend adding to to another base (like white rum or vodka) for the yellow color. In a pinch you could use any vanilla liqueur and add a tiny bit of yellow food dye to color.
