ENHYPEN have landed their first #1 billboard‘s Top Album Sales Chart (dated August 27) like that of the group Manifesto: Day 1 climbs 2-1 in its third week on the list. The set sold 14,000 copies (down 20%) in the US in the week ended August 18. The South Korean group’s album debuted at No. 3 on the chart dated August 13 after its CD release on July 29 with sales of 38,000 copies.
Manifesto: Day 1 was originally released for streaming and through digital retailers on July 4th, but only charted after the CD hit stores. Since its release, the album has sold 69,000 copies – 68,000 of which are on CD (the other 1,000 are digital albums).
Like many K-Pop releases, the CD configuration is from manifest was released in collectable deluxe packs (11 total, including a version sold exclusively through Target), each with a standard set of items and random elements (like photo cards). The set was not released in any other physical format.
Manifesto: Day 1 is the fourth charting title for ENHYPEN in Top Album Sales, with all four having reached the Top 5 on the chart.
Notable are the 14,000 sold for Manifesto: Day 1 is the lowest total for the week’s best-selling album in more than a year. The #1 top album sales was last sold few or fewer on the charts on July 24, 2021, as Olivia Rodrigos Angry sold 10,000 copies, making it his third consecutive week at the top of the list (of a total of four weeks at #1).
Also in the new top 10 of Top Album Sales: There are debuts from Danger Mouse and Black Thought’s collaborative album, Megan Thee Stallion, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard and Hollywood Undead. Also, BrockHampton is a year and a half old Roadrunner: New light, new machine re-enters the charts at number 5 after its delayed vinyl release.
billboard‘s Top Album Sales Chart lists the week’s best-selling albums based on traditional album sales only. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Album-only sales were the only measurement used by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the December 6, 2014 listing. Thereafter, this table switched to a method that mixes album sales with title-equivalent album units and streaming-equivalent album units. cheat codes also bows to #1 on Tastemaker Albums, a top seller among independent and small record stores. It sold 4,000 copies in the indie and small-chain sectors — 38% of its first-week sales.
Harry Styles former number 1 Harry’s house climbs 4-3 on Top Album Sales (minus 1%) with 10,000 copies sold. The set’s cumulative US sales since its release in May have stood at 562,000. It continues to be the best-selling album of 2022 and the only attempt to sell more than half a million copies in the US that year.
Megan Thee Stallion is new traumazine sold 8,000 copies in its debut frame and peaked at No. 4 on Top Album Sales – the rapper’s highest charting performance on the list to date. It is her third top 10 overall.
BrockHampton is a year and a half old Roadrunner: New light, new machine re-enters #5 on Top Album Sales after its delayed vinyl release on August 12th 1st debut on vinyl album chart. road runner previously spent a week on the chart when it debuted at number 3 on the April 24, 2021 list.
Two former No. 1s are next on the list, as Beyoncé Renaissance falls 3-6 with 8,000 sold (down 43%) while SEVENTEEN SEVENTEEN 4th Album Repackaged: Sector 17 up 10-7 with 7,000 units sold (up 7%).
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard achieves its second Top Album Sales top 10 – 16th overall on the list – with the No. 8 debut of Omnium Gatherum, following its August 12 vinyl LP release. The set sold almost 7,000 copies in the tracking week – practically everything from its vinyl editions. The band’s album was originally released for streaming and digital retail in April.
Rounding out the new Top Album Sales chart top 10 is the former TOMORROW X TOGETHER leader Minisode 2: Thursday Childwhich fell 8-9 with 7,000 copies sold (down 2%) and the new Hollywood Undead album Hotel California, debuting at number 10 with 6,000 copies sold. For the latter band, it’s the act’s fourth top 10 finish
In the week ended August 18, 1.716 million albums were sold in the US (down 0.9% from the previous week). Of these, 1.345 million (down 1.3%) were physical albums (CDs, vinyl LPs, cassettes, etc.) and 371,000 (up 0.6%) were digital albums.
For the week ended August 18, 624,000 CD albums were sold (down 5.3% compared to the week) and 710,000 vinyl albums were sold (down 2.7%). Year-to-date sales of CD albums are 21.563 million (down 8.8% compared to the same period a year ago) and sales of vinyl albums are 24.466 million year-to-date (down 1%).
A total of 59.389 million albums were sold year-to-date (down 8.1% compared to the same period year-to-date a year ago). Year-to-date physical album sales are 46.356 million (down 4.2%) and total digital album sales are 13.033 million (down 19.7%).
