It is official: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is on the way. Taylor Swift announced during her first of three shows at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Friday night (May 5) that her third studio album, 2010, will be her next re-recorded release, which will be out on July 7th.
All Swift fans could rejoice in the announcement as well, as Taylor Nation’s Instagram account went live from the concert on stage for the moment. She drew the fans’ attention to screens around the stadium, which read: “Speak now. Taylor’s version. Available July 7th.”
Swifties already noticed something was wrong last Sunday when the glowing wristbands presented to attendees of the Eras Tour at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium turned purple at the end of the show. Purple is the color that represents Speak Now, which fans have long speculated about, would be the next re-recording. To celebrate the announcement, the John Seigenthaler Footbridge in Nashville also changed its lights to a bright purple hue on Friday night.
Swift has only performed one song from the Eras Tour, which kicked off March 17 in Glendale, Arizona Speak Now“Enchanted” in their set list – although “Mean” was performed as a surprise song during their April 15 show in Tampa, Florida. Speak Now spawned two Top 10 singles, “Mine” (No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100) and “Back to December” (No. 6), plus four other singles – “Mean” (No. 13), “Sparks Fly” (No. 17) and “The Story of Us” (No. 41) – which charted on the Hot 100.

Swift announced plans to re-record her first six studio albums in 2019 after being unable to purchase her back catalog master recordings. Rather than releasing a re-recorded album last year, Swift released her 10th midnightwho scored the biggest debut week of her career and of any album in 2022.
