Ingredients in a Pink Starburst Shot
- Vanilla Vodka – Choose vanilla vodka or a flavor like whipped cream vodka or cake vodka.
- Watermelon Pucker – You can use any flavor or pucker or schnapps (we recommend pink, of course). Strawberry is a great choice as well.
- Sweet and Sour Mix – Use store bought or our homemade sour mix recipe.
- Pink Sugar – An optional garnish for the rim of your glass.
The best glassware for this recipe is a traditional shot glass.
Directions
Begin my prepping the rim of your shot glass with pink sugar. I didn’t have any pink sugar or sprinkles on hand, so I dyed my sugar pink with a drop of food coloring.
In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine vanilla vodka, watermelon pucker and sour mix. Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
Pour into your prepared shot glass. Garnish with a pink Starburst on the edge of your glass or using a cocktail pick.
Tips for Making
- Pink Starburst Cocktail – To turn this recipe from a shot to a cocktail, simply double the recipe and serve it in a cocktail glass instead of a shot glass. It makes a great sipping drink as well.
- Garnish Ideas – Add a dollop of Cool Whip with pink sprinkles if you want to make a more festive version. I love using pink Starburst candy as a garnish.
- If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can use a mason jar (or any type of water bottle with a tight sealing lid) to shake up this recipe. Fear not!
