This is a diver’s watch and in order to achieve that 100m water resistance rating, the crown stem has internal seals that engage only when the crown is fully screwed down. Hence the term “screw down crown”. This feature is standard for just about every true diver’s watch on the market.For non-divers, that extra step might seem like a needless complication for an everyday watch. Which is a fair concern.

CERAMIC BEZEL

The verdant green colour scheme provides the watch with its ‘Hulk’ nickname. An applied luminous pip is present at the 12 o’clock mark bolstering with warm blue hues. A 70-click, stainless steel and uni-directional bezel that allows for precise and smoother movement. while tying the piece back to its archived roots, as it allows you to easily rotate the bezel and measure elapsed diving time.

LUMINOUS

Luminous coating (luminous material): a new generation of luminous materials, applied to the hands and dials, is illuminated by sunlight during the day, electrons jump to high energy levels and absorb energy; at night, electrons jump from high energy levels to low energy levels, emitting light, nothing radiation. In this way, it is possible to distinguish the hands and read the time in places where light is lacking.

SCREW DOWN CROWN

The dial on the side is how you set the watch. You have to unscrew it until the dial pops out. After that you need to gently pull on the dial to change the date, pull again to change the time. When you are finished making changes you must push the dial into the watch (two clicks), and turn in a clockwise rotation until the dial can be spun/tightened no longer. Do not over tighten the watch as you could cause damage to the gears internal to the watch. Getting the dial tight again may take a second or two to get used to because you need to be pushing/turning the dial to tighten it back into the watch.

Many people are complaining about the watch taking in moisture/water. This is because they are NOT tightening the dial as mentioned in picture. If your dial is not tight, of course water is going to get into and damage your watch.

This watch is a Japanese MIYOTA automatic movement, no battery required! The winding mechanism can maintain two working modes: the first is by shaking the arm in daily use, and the second is by manual winding. If you wear this watch every day, you don’t need to wind it, but if you don’t wear this watch on a particular day, you will usually tighten it when you take it off. If you have a watch winder, it’s no big deal

This is a legitimately attractive, high quality wrist watch. Most of us-myself included-will never be able to afford a Submariner. But the LACZ DENTON gives me a tremendous amount of personal satisfaction owning and wearing a fine mechanical timepiece. If you’ re on a budget and out to impress your affluent watch snob friends, this isn’t the watch for you. But if you’re on a budget and out to impress yourself, this thing is a bargain.
